THE TRILATERAL MEETING OF THE MINISTRIES OF ENERGY OF THE REPUBLIC OF UZBEKISTAN, KAZAKHSTAN AND THE KYRGYZ REPUBLIC TOOK PLACE
On March 15 this year, a regular trilateral meeting of the Ministries of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and the Kyrgyz Republic was held in Tashkent, where the construction project of the Kambaratinskaya HPP-1, electricity and water resources were discussed.
The meeting was attended by Minister of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan Zh. Mirzamakhmudov, Minister of Water Resources of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sh.Khamraev, Minister of Energy of the Kyrgyz Republic T. Ibraev, Deputy Minister of Energy of Kazakhstan Zh. Nurmaganbetov and responsible managers and employees of subordinate organizations of the parties.
The meeting reviewed the implementation of the signed Roadmap for the construction of the Kambaratinskaya HPP-1, the basic principles of cooperation and the main stages of preparation for the implementation of the project. Also, the parties decided to hold the next trilateral meeting in the last decade of March this year.
In addition, the sides exchanged views on the water and energy situation in the region, the current situation in the electric power industry, and the rational use of water resources. Measures to protect the Toktokul reservoir during summer irrigation were discussed.
Also, the issues of electricity transit to the Kyrgyz Republic through the power systems of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, the supply of Kazakh and Uzbek electricity to the Kyrgyz Republic, the volume of water releases during the growing season to agricultural consumers of the republics of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan through the Uchkurgan HPP were discussed.
