A new cascade of hydroelectric power plants with a capacity of 18 MW will be built in the Uchkurgan district of Namangan region.

An event dedicated to the start of construction of new hydroelectric power plants was held in the mahalla “Tegirmon” of Uchkurgan with the participation of local authorities, district officials, activists of the mahalla.

It is worth noting that currently the total capacity of cascades in Uchkurgan district is 12 MW, which provides uninterrupted power supply to 48 thousand households.

The cost of the new project is 60 million US dollars, the total capacity of hydroelectric power plants reaches 18 MW. This means meeting the electricity needs of about 65-70 thousand more homes.

The annual production capacity of the project is expected to reach 56.4 million kWh. This, in turn, will save 8.2 million cubic meters of natural gas. At the same time, new jobs will be created in the district.
