Exactly one century ago, on May 1, 1923, the construction of the first hydroelectric power station in our country – "Bozsuv" began.
The first hydroelectric power station built in Uzbekistan is the Bozsuv HPP-1. The facility is located on the territory of the Yunusabad district of Tashkent city and is part of the unitary enterprise “Tashkent Cascade HPP”.
The construction of the Bozsu HPP was carried out by the people's hashar. The dam of the station was built in 94 days, and the building itself and the main part of the waterworks – in 9 months.
For reference, a total of 4 hydroelectric units with a total capacity of 4 MW were installed at the HPP. According to the modernization carried out in 2022, the capacity of the HPP was increased by 2 MW and the production capacity reached 6 MW.
